Zoological Research

Zoological Research is a bimonthly zoology journal produced by the Kunming Institute of Zoology of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the China Zoological Society and published by Science Press, founded in 1980 and covering primates and animal models, animal resource conservation and animal diversity and evolution, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 5.6.《动物学研究》（Zoological Research）由（Chinese Academy of Sciences）昆明动物研究所与（China Zoological Society）共同主办、（Science Press）出版，1980 年创刊，为双月刊，刊载灵长类与动物模型、动物资源保护利用及动物多样性与演化，2025 年期刊影响因子为 5.6。

Scope

• Primates and animal models are named first among the journal's three defining areas.灵长类与动物模型被列为刊物三大核心方向之首。
• Conservation and utilisation of animal resources form the second pillar, from population surveys to wildlife management.动物资源的保护与利用为第二大支柱，自种群调查延伸至野生生物管理。
• Animal diversity and evolution, including phylogenetics and biogeography, make up the third.动物多样性与演化构成第三大方向，含系统发生与生物地理学。
• Taxonomy and DNA barcoding are explicitly welcomed as standalone contributions.分类学与 DNA 条形码作为独立稿件类型被明确欢迎。

History

• The journal was established in 1980 under the Chinese title Dongwuxue Yanjiu, jointly by the Kunming Institute of Zoology and the China Zoological Society.本刊于 1980 年以中文刊名《动物学研究》创刊，由昆明动物研究所与中国动物学会共同主办。
• It converted to a fully English-language publication in 2014 while keeping the 1980 volume numbering, which reached volume 47 in 2026.2014 年转为全英文出版，同时沿用 1980 年起的卷次，2026 年为第 47 卷。
• Issues appear every two months, on the eighteenth of the month, at roughly 220 pages each.刊物每两月一期，于当月十八日出版，每期约 220 页。
• Web of Science accepted the title into SCIE in December 2018, and the first Journal Impact Factor followed in 2019.2018 年 12 月被（Web of Science）的（SCIE）收录，2019 年获得首个影响因子。
