Zhengzhou University (ZZU, Chinese 郑州大学) is a provincial public comprehensive university in Zhengzhou, the capital of Henan province in central China, run by the Henan Provincial People's Government and affiliated with it.郑州大学（Zhengzhou University，简称郑大）是中国中部河南省省会郑州的一所省属公立综合性大学，由河南省人民政府举办并主管。

It is a national Project 211 university, a Double First-Class construction university, one of the 14 institutions jointly built by the Ministry of Education and a provincial government, and one of the first pilot universities for comprehensive higher-education reform.该校是国家「211 工程」重点建设高校、「双一流」建设高校、14 所教育部与省级政府「部省合建」高校之一，也是首批高等教育综合改革试点高校之一。

History

• Zhengzhou University was formed from three institutions: the original Zhengzhou University founded in 1956 as the first comprehensive university created by the People's Republic of China, Zhengzhou University of Technology of 1963 and Henan Medical University, whose medical teaching reaches back to the Henan Zhongshan University of 1928 and the independent Henan Medical College of 1952.郑州大学由三所院校汇成：1956 年创办的原郑州大学（中华人民共和国创建的第一所综合性大学）、1963 年的郑州工业大学，以及河南医科大学；后者医科教育可上溯至 1928 年的河南中山大学与 1952 年独立建院的河南医学院。
