Yarmouk University

Yarmouk University is a public, state-supported comprehensive university on the northern fringe of Irbid in Jordan, founded in 1976 as the second university of the Hashemite Kingdom after the University of Jordan at Amman, and known in Arabic as جامعة اليرموك.耶尔穆克大学是约旦北部伊尔比德城郊的一所公立综合性大学，1976 年创办，是继安曼的约旦大学之后约旦哈希姆王国设立的第二所大学，阿拉伯语校名为 جامعة اليرموك。

History

• In 1975 the Jordanian government decided to open a second public comprehensive university at Irbid, a city the university's own profile calls the second largest in Jordan, and the first students were admitted the following year.1975 年约旦政府决定在伊尔比德增设第二所公立综合大学，校方资料称该城为约旦第二大城市，次年迎来首批学生。
