Yale University, based in New Haven, Connecticut, is a private research university and Ivy League member founded in 1701 by ten Congregational ministers, among the oldest institutions of higher learning in the United States耶鲁大学（Yale University），坐落于美国康涅狄格州纽黑文市，是一所私立研究型大学与常春藤联盟成员，由十位公理会牧师于 1701 年创办，是美国历史最悠久的大学之一。

Carrying the motto Lux et Veritas, the university comprises fifteen schools and a residential college system for undergraduates, and has educated five US presidents and ten of the Founding Fathers. History

• On 9 October 1701 the Connecticut General Court chartered a collegiate school, founded by ten Congregational ministers led by James Pierpont and originally known simply as the Collegiate School1701 年 10 月 9 日康涅狄格州议会通过设立学院的法案，十位公理会牧师以詹姆斯·皮尔庞为首创办学校，初名「文理学院」。
