Yıldız Technical University

Yıldız Technical University, known in Turkish as Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi and usually shortened to YTU, is a public technical university in Istanbul, Türkiye, dedicated chiefly to engineering and the natural sciences.耶尔德兹理工大学（土耳其语 Yıldız Teknik Üniversitesi，常简称 YTU）是位于土耳其伊斯坦布尔的一所公立理工大学，以工程与自然科学为主。

Its history reaches back to 1911, making it one of the oldest educational institutions in Istanbul, and it is organised today into ten faculties, three institutes and a school of foreign languages.其历史可追溯至1911年，是伊斯坦布尔历史最悠久的教育机构之一；如今设有十个学院、三个研究所与一所外国语学院。

History

• The university was founded in 1911 as the Kondüktör Mekteb-i Âlisi, the Conductors School of Higher Education, to supply the Municipality Public Works Section with the science officers then known as conductors.该校于1911年创办，初名Kondüktör Mekteb-i Âlisi（高等教育向导学校），旨在为市政公共工程部门培养当时称为向导的技术官员。

• The school was modelled on the syllabus of the Ecole de Conducteur and was affiliated with the Ministry of Public Works, giving it an engineering and public-service orientation from the outset.该校以Ecole de Conducteur的课程为蓝本，并隶属于公共工程部，自创办之初即带有工程与公共服务的取向。

Academics

• Yıldız Technical University is organised into ten faculties, among them the Faculty of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, the Faculty of Civil Engineering and the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering.耶尔德兹理工大学设十个学院，其中包括电机与电子工程学院、土木工程学院与机械工程学院。
