The University of Wyoming (UW) is a public land-grant research university in Laramie, Wyoming, United States, founded in March 1886 and opened in September 1887, four years before the territory was admitted to the Union as the 44th state.怀俄明大学（University of Wyoming，简称 UW）是美国怀俄明州拉勒米的一所公立赠地研究型大学，创办于 1886 年 3 月，1887 年 9 月正式开学，比该地区作为美国第 44 个州加入联邦早四年。

History

• The cornerstone of Old Main was laid on 27 September 1886 while Wyoming was still a territory, and the stone carries the motto Domi Habuit Unde Disceret, translated as he need not go away from home for instruction.1886 年 9 月 27 日，怀俄明尚为地区政府时，主楼奠基石安放就位，石上刻有校训 Domi Habuit Unde Disceret，意为求学无须离家远行。
