University of the Aegean

The University of the Aegean (Panepistimio Aigaiou) is a public, multi-campus university in Greece, founded on 20 March 1984 by Presidential Act 83/1984 and headquartered in Mytilene on the island of Lesvos.爱琴大学（Panepistimio Aigaiou）是希腊一所公立多校区大学，1984 年 3 月 20 日依据第 83/1984 号总统法令成立，总部设在莱斯沃斯岛上的米蒂利尼。

History

• After the First World War Greece extended its borders to the Smyrna region, where Athens was still the country's only university, and scholars began planning a second institution in Asia Minor.第一次世界大战后，希腊把边界扩展到士麦那地区，当时雅典仍是全国唯一的大学，学者们开始筹划在小亚细亚再建一所高等学府。

• The university is organised into five schools, Humanities, Sciences, Business Studies, Social Studies and Environmental Studies, which together contain 18 departments.
