The University of Southampton, commonly shortened to Soton, is a public research university in the port city of Southampton in Hampshire, England, and a founding member of the Russell Group南安普敦大学（The University of Southampton，常简称 Soton）是位于英格兰汉普郡南安普敦这座港口城市的公立研究型大学，也是英国罗素集团的创始成员之一。

History
