History

• The university was founded as South Carolina College on 19 December 1801 by an act of the South Carolina General Assembly initiated by Governor John Drayton.该校于 1801 年 12 月 19 日依南卡罗来纳州议会通过、由州长约翰·德雷顿发起的法案，以「南卡罗来纳学院」之名创办。
