The University of Shanghai for Science and Technology (USST) is a municipal public university in the Yangpu district of Shanghai, built around engineering and extending into science, economics, management, literature, law and art.上海理工大学是位于上海市杨浦区的市属公立大学，以工学为主，并涵盖理学、经济学、管理学、文学、法学与艺术学等门类。

Its origins lie in Hujiang University, founded by American Baptists in 1906, and in the German Medical School of 1907, while the present institution was created in May 1996 by merging East China University of Technology with the Shanghai Institute of Mechanical Technology.学校源自 1906 年美国浸会创办的沪江大学与 1907 年设立的德文医学堂，现有建制则于 1996 年 5 月由华东工业大学与上海机械高等专科学校合并组建。

History

• Hujiang University was built by the Northern and Southern Baptist conventions of the United States on 26.5 acres of land bought in late 1905, and its first president, the missionary John Thomas Proctor, was appointed by the board of trustees at Moganshan in August 1906.沪江大学由美国南、北浸信会差会于 1905 年末购得的 26.5 英亩土地上兴建，首任校长、传教士约翰·托马斯·普罗克特于 1906 年 8 月在莫干山由董事会任命。
