History

• In 1925 the University of Miami was founded by a group of citizens who, according to the founding charter, sought to offer unique opportunities to develop inter-American studies, to further creative work in the arts and letters, and to conduct teaching and research in tropical studies.1925 年，迈阿密大学由一批市民创办，据建校章程所述，他们希望提供独特机会以发展美洲间研究、推进文学艺术的创作，并开展热带研究领域的教学与科研。

• In 1929 the founding member William E.
