University of Lima

University of Lima (Spanish: Universidad de Lima, ULima) is a private, non-profit university in the Santiago de Surco district of Lima, Peru, founded on 25 April 1962 by Supreme Decree No. 23 at the initiative of an association of professors and business leaders. It was created during the expansion of private higher education in Peru in the 1960s and has remained independent and non-profit since.利马大学（Universidad de Lima，简称 ULima）是秘鲁利马圣地亚哥-德苏尔科区的一所私立非营利大学，1962 年 4 月 25 日由一批大学教授与工商界代表组成的协会倡议、经第 23 号最高法令创办。该校诞生于 1960 年代秘鲁私立高等教育的扩张期，此后一直保持独立与非营利性质。

The founders organised themselves as the Civil Association PRODIES, short for the Promotion of Industrial Development through Higher Education, a name that expressed the university's original purpose of training engineers and managers for Peruvian industry.创办者组成了「通过高等教育促进工业发展协会」（PRODIES），这一名称体现了该校为秘鲁工业培养工程师与管理者的最初宗旨。

History
