The University of Johannesburg, commonly shortened to UJ, is a public university in Johannesburg, South Africa, formed on 1 January 2005 by merging the Rand Afrikaans University, Technikon Witwatersrand and the Soweto campus of Vista University.约翰内斯堡大学（简称 UJ）是南非约翰内斯堡的一所公立大学，于 2005 年 1 月 1 日由兰德阿非利卡大学、维瓦特斯兰理工学院与维斯塔大学索韦托校区合并而成。

History

• During the Johannesburg gold rush, training institutions were founded to supply skilled labour to the gold mines, among them the Witwatersrand Technical Institute of 1903, which grew out of the Kimberley School of Mines.在约翰内斯堡淘金热期间，为金矿输送技术工人的培训机构相继建立，其中包括 1903 年创办、源自金伯利矿业学校的维瓦特斯兰技术学院。
