University of International Business and Economics

The University of International Business and Economics (UIBE, Chinese: 对外经济贸易大学) is a public finance and economics university in Chaoyang District, Beijing, directly administered by the Ministry of Education and jointly built with the Ministry of Commerce.

Founded in 1951 as the Senior Commercial Cadre School of the Central People's Government's Ministry of Trade, it describes itself as the first higher education institution in the People's Republic of China dedicated to training foreign trade specialists.该校前身为 1951 年中央人民政府贸易部创办的高级商业干部学校，自称是新中国第一所专门培养对外贸易人才的高等学府。

The university is part of Project 211 and the Double First-Class Construction, with Applied Economics as its national Double First-Class discipline, and it enrolled more than 17,000 students in 2025, including over 2,300 international students from 160 countries.该校是“211 工程”和“双一流”建设高校，应用经济学为国家“双一流”建设学科，2025 年在校生超过一万七千人，其中来自 160 个国家和地区的国际学生超过两千三百人。

History

• The institution was founded in 1951 as the Senior Commercial Cadre School under the Ministry of Trade of the Central People's Government, created to supply personnel for the new state trading system that handled nearly all of China's imports and exports.学校于 1951 年作为中央人民政府贸易部高级商业干部学校创办，任务是为新国家的贸易体系培养干部。
