The University of Hertfordshire is a public research university based mainly in Hatfield in the county of Hertfordshire, United Kingdom, and it is one of the post-1992 universities, having been granted university status by the British government in 1992.赫特福德大学是一所主校区位于英国赫特福德郡哈特菲尔德的公立研究型大学，1992 年获英国政府授予大学资格，属于「1992 年后大学」群体中的一员。

History

• The land at Roe Green in Hatfield belonged to the Gape family of St Michael's Manor in St Albans from the late 17th century, and by the 1920s it had passed through a farmer named Hill to Alan Butler, chairman of the de Havilland Aircraft Company, who in 1944 donated 90 acres, or 36 hectares, for educational purposes.哈特菲尔德罗伊格林一带的土地自 17 世纪后期起属圣奥尔本斯圣迈克尔庄园盖普家族所有，1920 年代经农场主希尔之手转予德哈维兰飞机公司董事长艾伦·巴特勒，他于 1944 年捐出其中 90 英亩（合 36 公顷）土地用于办学。

• Construction began in 1948, the first principal W. A. J.
