University of Exeter

The University of Exeter is a public research university in the West Country of England, founded from four predecessor institutions that date from 1838 to 1888 and chartered as a university in 1955. History

• The Exeter Diocesan Board of Education resolved in 1838 to found an institution for the education and training of schoolmasters, the first such initiative in England, and the Exeter Diocesan Training College opened in 1840 in Cathedral Close beside Exeter Cathedral1838 年，埃克塞特教区教育委员会决定创办一所培养教师的学校，这是英格兰最早的相关举措；1839 年教区培训学院在埃克塞特大教堂旁的座堂院落成立，1840 年正式开学，首任院长获委任。

• Alderman W. H.
