Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS), or the University of Malaysia Sarawak, is a public comprehensive university in Kota Samarahan, about 25 kilometres from Kuching, and was incorporated on 24 December 1992 as the eighth public university in Malaysia and the first in Sarawak.马来西亚砂拉越大学（Universiti Malaysia Sarawak，简称 UNIMAS 或砂大）是砂拉越州三马拉汉的一所公立综合性大学，距古晋约 25 公里，于 1992 年 12 月 24 日注册成立，是马来西亚第八所公立大学，也是砂拉越首所大学。

• On 1 October 1992 the Minister of Education, Datuk Amar Dr Sulaiman Daud, announced the appointment of Dato' Dr Zawawi Ismail as first vice-chancellor designate, formally launching what became Malaysia's eighth public university.1992 年 10 月 1 日，教育部长苏莱曼·达乌德宣布任命扎瓦维·伊斯梅尔博士为首任候任校长，马来西亚第八所公立大学由此正式启动筹建。
