Universitas Airlangga (UNAIR) is a public research university in Surabaya, East Java, and the second-oldest university in Indonesia, established by Government Regulation No. 57/1954 and inaugurated by President Sukarno on 10 November 1954.艾尔朗加大学（Universitas Airlangga，简称 UNAIR）是位于东爪哇泗水的公立研究型大学，为印度尼西亚历史第二悠久的大学，依 1954 年第 57 号政府条例设立，由总统苏加诺于 1954 年 11 月 10 日主持成立。

Its roots reach back to the Netherlands Indies School of Doctors (NIAS) founded in Surabaya in 1913, and the university is named after Airlangga, the king who ruled East Java from 1019 to 1042 and was known as the preserver.其渊源可追溯至 1913 年在泗水创办的荷属东印度医学院（NIAS），校名取自 1019 至 1042 年统治东爪哇、以「守护者」著称的国王艾尔朗加。

History

• The forerunner of higher education in Indonesia was the Dokter Djawa School, or Javanese Medical School, founded in Batavia in 1851 and reorganised into the School tot Opleiding van Indische Artsen in 1902.印尼高等教育的先驱是 1851 年在巴达维亚创办的爪哇医科学校，该校于 1902 年改组为荷属东印度医生培训学校。
• By Government Decree No. 4211 of 8 May 1913, a medical school called the Netherlands Indies School of Doctors (NIAS) was established in Surabaya, inaugurated on 1 July 1913 with teaching beginning on 15 July 1913 at Jl.
