UCSI University

UCSI University is a private university in Malaysia, established in 1986, and it takes the abbreviation UCSI from the initials of the name University College Sedaya International, which the institution carried from 2003 until it gained full university status in 2008.思特雅大学（UCSI University）是马来西亚的一所私立大学，创办于 1986 年。其缩写 UCSI 取自英文全名 University College Sedaya International 的首字母；学校自 2003 年起使用这一名称，直至 2008 年升格为完整大学，此后中文仍沿用“思特雅”这一译名。

The university is accredited by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency, the country's national quality-assurance body for higher education, and its medical and nursing provision is recognised by the Malaysian Medical Council and the Malaysian Nursing Board.学校获马来西亚学术资格机构认证，该机构是马来西亚高等教育的国家级质量保障机构，负责审评各高校的办学资质与课程质量；其医学与护理类课程则获马来西亚医药理事会与马来西亚护士局这两个全国性专业监管机构认可，毕业生可据此执业。

History

• UCSI University traces its origin to 1986, when Dato' Peter Ng founded a small computer-training institute in Petaling Jaya, a town in the state of Selangor, as a private venture rather than a public institution.思特雅大学的历史可追溯至 1986 年，当时 Dato' Peter Ng 在雪兰莪州八打灵再也创办了一所小型的计算机培训机构。它从一开始就是民办机构，而非由政府设立的公立院校，创办初期以计算机相关培训为主要业务。
