History

• Temple University was founded in 1884 by the Grace Baptist Church of Philadelphia and its pastor Russell Conwell, a Yale-educated lawyer, orator and ordained Baptist minister who had served in the Union Army.天普大学由费城恩典浸信会及其牧师拉塞尔·康韦尔于 1884 年创办；康韦尔毕业于耶鲁，是律师、演说家与受按立的浸信会牧师，曾服役于联邦军队。
