Tamkang University (TKU, Chinese: 淡江大學) is a private university in Tamsui District, New Taipei City, Taiwan, founded in 1950 as a junior college of English and now the island's oldest private institution of higher learning.淡江大学（Tamkang University，简称 TKU）是位于台湾新北市淡水区的私立大学，1950 年以英语专科学校起家，如今是台湾历史最悠久的私立高等学府。

History

• Tamkang was founded in 1950 as the Tamkang Junior College of English by Chang Ching-sheng, opening with a two-year programme that was later extended to three years.淡江于 1950 年由张惊声创办，初名淡江英语专科学校，先设两年制课程，其后延长为三年制。
