Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy
Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy (commonly abbreviated as ''Surg. Radiol. Anat.') is a peer-reviewed journal in clinical anatomy published by Springer, supported by institutions such as the University of Rouen in France, and it carries research on the anatomical foundations of medical, surgical and radiologic techniques. It is edited jointly by two Editors-in-Chief holding medical doctorates from French universities.Surgical and Radiologic Anatomy(常用缩写 Surg. Radiol. Anat.)
Scope
The journal takes as its starting point that anatomy is a morphological science which cannot fail to interest the clinician, and it argues that applying anatomical research to clinical problems demands special adaptation and selectivity when choosing among numerous international works. Its goal is to serve clinicians, whatever their speciality, as an indispensable aid to improving their knowledge of anatomy. [1]
- Original papers and reviews: each issue carries original papers, review articles, and articles on the anatomical bases of medical, surgical and radiological techniques.
- Normal radiologic anatomy: articles on normal radiologic anatomy, together with brief reviews of anatomical publications of clinical interest.
- High-quality illustrations: particular attention is paid to high-quality illustrations, which the editors regard as indispensable for a proper understanding of anatomical problems.
- Article scope: contributions are organised across the abdomen and pelvis, head and neck, central and peripheral nervous systems, fasciae and envelopes, the locomotor system, medical imaging, spine and cord, and teaching and terminology.
- Authorship and readership: the journal describes itself as written by anatomists for clinicians who have a special interest in anatomy, so that its contributors are morphologists and its audience is practising clinicians.
The journal is published twelve times a year in a hybrid open-access model, manuscripts are reviewed by anatomists, radiologists and practising surgeons before an Editor-in-Chief decides on acceptance, and in JCR it is placed in the second quartile of the anatomy and morphology category.
History
- 1978: issue 1 of Volume 1 appeared in March 1978 under the journal's present title, which it has retained ever since, having been founded as the first international journal of clinical anatomy.1978年: 第 1 卷第 1 期于 1978 年 3 月出版,刊名自创刊起沿用至今,创办时的定位是打造世界上第一份临床解剖学专业国际期刊。
- Early years: the journal began with four issues per year, printed on paper, with all manuscript handling and peer review conducted by post.
- 1997: nearly two decades after founding, an electronic version was added, making the journal one of the early clinical anatomy titles to complete its transition to digital publication.1997年: 在创刊近二十年后增设电子版本,成为较早完成数字化转型的临床解剖学期刊之一。
- 2008 and 2017: an online submission system was put into use in 2008, and in 2017 the journal became fully electronic, completing the abandonment of print.2008年与2017年: 2008 年起启用在线投稿系统,2017 年起刊物彻底告别纸媒,成为完全的电子出版物。
- Growth and society affiliations: over the same period the Editorial Board expanded from ten to thirty-seven members, and in 2018 the editors marked the fortieth anniversary of the journal, which in that year also became the official journal of several affiliated societies, including the Japanese Research Society and the International Symposium of Clinical and Applied Anatomy.
