History

• The university began as a public promise: Sultan Qaboos bin Said announced the intention to found a national university of Oman during the celebrations of the tenth anniversary of the Omani National Day in 1980, and the project has carried royal patronage ever since.这所大学始于一次公开许诺：苏丹卡布斯·本·赛义德在 1980 年阿曼国庆十周年庆典上宣布要为国家创建一所大学，此后该校始终享有王室赞助。
