Statistics Surveys
Statistics Surveys is a free-access electronic journal of survey articles in theoretical, computational and applied statistics, jointly sponsored by the American Statistical Association, the Bernoulli Society, the Institute of Mathematical Statistics and the Statistical Society of Canada, launched in 2007 under the ISSN 1935-7516, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 8.2 and a first quartile rank of 3 of 170 in statistics and probability in the Emerging Sources Citation Index《统计学综述》(Statistics Surveys)是由(American Statistical Association)、(Bernoulli Society)、(Institute of Mathematical Statistics)与(Statistical Society of Canada)共同主办、2007 年创办的免费获取电子期刊,刊载理论、计算与应用统计学综述文章,刊号 1935-7516,2025 年影响因子为 8.2,在(Emerging Sources Citation Index)统计与概率类 170 种期刊中列第 3 位,居第一四分位。
Scope
- The journal publishes survey and review articles in theoretical, computational and applied statistics, and the style of the articles ranges from reviews of recent research to graduate textbook exposition该刊刊载理论、计算与应用统计学方向的综述与调查文章,文章风格从近期研究评述到研究生教材式阐述不等。
- Articles may be broad or narrow in scope, but the essential requirements are a well specified topic and target audience together with clear exposition文章选题可宽可窄,但必须主题明确、面向特定读者群,并有清晰的表述。
- The journal is intended to make the state of the art accessible to a wide statistical readership, so it welcomes expositions of modern methodology, computational and Bayesian statistics, machine learning and statistical inference该刊旨在让最新进展为更广泛的统计学读者所理解,因此欢迎现代方法学、计算统计与贝叶斯统计、机器学习以及统计推断等方面的阐述性文章。
- Reviews of application areas such as biostatistics, epidemiology, survey methodology, time series analysis and statistical genetics are also within its remit生物统计、流行病学、调查方法学、时间序列分析与统计遗传学等应用领域的评述,也在收稿范围之内。
- Every article is free to read, authors are not charged any publication fee, and voluntary fees and donations to the Open Access Fund are accepted所有文章免费阅读,不向作者收取发表费,同时接受自愿付费与面向开放获取基金的捐赠。
- Articles are published under a Creative Commons attribution licence, and the board commits itself to quick and constructive feedback rather than to prolonged deliberation文章采用知识共享署名许可发布;编委会承诺给出快速而具建设性的评审反馈,而非反复拖延。
- The journal is indexed in the Emerging Sources Citation Index, and its articles carry the digital object identifier prefix 10.1214, shared with the probability and statistics titles hosted on Project Euclid该刊被(Emerging Sources Citation Index)收录,论文的数字对象标识符前缀为(10.1214),与(Project Euclid)平台上的概率与统计学刊一致。
History
- The journal was founded in 2007 as an electronic, free-access title jointly sponsored by four statistical societies, at a time when the open-access survey journal Probability Surveys was already established on Project Euclid该刊于 2007 年创办,是四个统计学会共同主办、仅以电子形式发行且免费获取的期刊;当时同类开放获取综述刊(Probability Surveys)已在(Project Euclid)平台运行。
- Its editorial board is appointed on equal footing by the Bernoulli Society and the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, while the American Statistical Association and the Statistical Society of Canada act as co-sponsoring societies其编委会由(Bernoulli Society)与(Institute of Mathematical Statistics)平等推荐与委任,(American Statistical Association)与(Statistical Society of Canada)则为共同主办学会。
- Expenses not covered by voluntary payments are borne by the sponsoring societies as a service to the community, so the journal has never depended on author charges自愿付费未能覆盖的开支由各主办学会承担,作为对学界的服务;该刊因此从不依赖向作者收费。
- Since launch the journal has retained the same free-access model and the same all-electronic format, with the print ISSN recorded by indexers being identical to the electronic ISSN 1935-7516自创刊以来,该刊始终维持免费获取与纯电子出版的形态,各类索引中登记的印刷刊号与电子刊号同为 1935-7516。
- The 2024 Journal Impact Factor was 15.4 and the 2025 figure stood at 8.2, when the journal ranked third among 170 titles in statistics and probability and first by journal citation indicator该刊 2024 年影响因子为 15.4,2025 年为 8.2,当年在统计与概率类 170 种期刊中列第 3 位,期刊引文指标位列第 1。
- The title belongs to a family of co-sponsored open journals that also includes Probability Surveys, the Electronic Journal of Statistics and Electronic Communications in Probability该刊属于一系列共同主办的开放期刊,同列者还包括(Probability Surveys)、(Electronic Journal of Statistics)与(Electronic Communications in Probability)。
Editors
- Editorial coordination is led by the Coordinating Editor Wendy L. Martinez of the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics, who works with one Editor nominated by each sponsoring society编辑工作由协调编辑 Wendy L. Martinez(美国劳工统计局)主持,并与四个主办学会各推举的一名编辑共同推进。
- The editors are Bertrand Clarke for the American Statistical Association, Bei Jiang for the Institute of Mathematical Statistics, Bodhisattva Sen for the Bernoulli Society and Richard A. Lockhart for the Statistical Society of Canada四名编辑分别是代表(American Statistical Association)的 Bertrand Clarke、代表(Institute of Mathematical Statistics)的 Bei Jiang(任期 2026 至 2029 年)、代表(Bernoulli Society)的 Bodhisattva Sen 与代表(Statistical Society of Canada)的 Richard A. Lockhart。
- About thirty associate editors serve the journal, drawn from universities and research institutes in North America, Europe and Asia, among them Jianqing Fan, Xiaotong Shen, Qi-Man Shao, Subhashis Ghosal, Martin Lindquist and Noel Cressie该刊约有 30 名副编辑,来自北美、欧洲与亚洲的大学及研究机构,其中包括 Jianqing Fan、Xiaotong Shen、Qi-Man Shao、Subhashis Ghosal、Martin Lindquist 与 Noel Cressie 等学者。
- Submissions are handled by board members themselves, and the board states that it deplores long delays and indecisiveness in favour of quick and constructive decisions稿件由编委本人处理;编委会明确反对长时间拖延与犹豫不决,主张快速而具建设性的处理。
- Papers are accepted only as surveys, and authors are expected to state the topic and the intended readership clearly so that referees can assess clarity and accessibility该刊仅接受综述性文章,作者须清楚说明主题与目标读者,以便审稿人从清晰度与可及性角度评估稿件。
- New board members are added through nominations by the sponsoring societies, and the roster together with term information is published on the journal page新编委由各主办学会推举产生,编委名单及任期信息在期刊页面公布。
