Shaanxi Normal University

Shaanxi Normal University (SNNU) is a public normal university in Xi'an, the capital of Shaanxi Province in north-west China, and is directly administered by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China.陕西师范大学（Shaanxi Normal University，简称 SNNU）是中国西北陕西省省会西安的一所公立师范大学，由中华人民共和国教育部直属管理。

Its predecessor, the Shaanxi Provincial Teachers' College, was founded in 1944, and the university took its present name in 1960 after a merger, passing to direct Ministry of Education control in 1978 and joining Project 211 in 2005.其前身为 1944 年创办的陕西省立师范专科学校，1960 年经合并后定名陕西师范大学，1978 年划归教育部直属，2005 年入选国家「211 工程」。

It teaches about 31,800 students across 27 colleges, holds Chinese language and literature as its national Double First-Class discipline, and is placed in the 1001-1200 band of the QS World University Rankings 2027.该校在 27 个学院中培养约 31,800 名学生，以中国语言文学为国家「双一流」建设学科，并入列 2027 年 QS 世界大学排名的 1001-1200 区间。

History

• Shaanxi Normal University traces its origin to the Shaanxi Provincial Teachers' College founded in 1944, a teacher-training institution set up to supply teachers for north-west China.陕西师范大学的前身是 1944 年创办的陕西省立师范专科学校，这是一所为西北地区培养师资而设立的教育机构。
