Scope

• Condensed matter physics is the largest group, covering quantum materials, superconductivity, magnetism, semiconductors, spintronics and low dimensional systems.凝聚态物理是分量最大的方向，涵盖量子材料、超导、磁性、半导体、自旋电子学与低维体系。
• Optical physics is published together with atomic and molecular physics, precision measurement, cold atoms, acoustics and photonics.光学物理与原子分子物理、精密测量、冷原子、声学及光子学一并刊载。

History

• The title descends from the physics and astronomy part of Science in China, which was split off in February 2003 as Science in China Series G, first titled Physics & Astronomy.该刊源流可溯至《中国科学》的物理学与天文学部分，2003 年 2 月独立为（Science in China Series G），初名（Physics & Astronomy）。
• Later titled Physics, Mechanics & Astronomy, the series reached Volume 52 in 2009 under the ISSN pair 1672-1799 and 1862-2844.该分辑后改称（Physics，Mechanics & Astronomy），2009 年出至第 52 卷，刊号为 1672-1799 与 1862-2844。
• In 2010 the journal was relaunched with its present title, keeping continuous volume numbering from Volume 53 and moving to the ISSN pair 1674-7348 and 1869-1927.2010 年该刊以现名重刊，卷号自第 53 卷连续，刊号改为 1674-7348 与 1869-1927。
• Science China Press publishes the journal for its two sponsors, and Springer has hosted and distributed the title since the Series G years.（Science China Press）代表两家主办单位出版该刊，Springer 自（Series G）时期起承担发行与数字存档。
• Volumes now advance once a year, with Volume 69 due in 2026 across twelve monthly issues.该刊每年更替一卷，2026 年为第 69 卷，全年 12 期。
• Its Journal Impact Factor moved from 5.122 in 2021 and 5.203 in 2022 to 7.5 in 2024 and 7.2 in 2025, and the journal is published under a hybrid model.其影响因子由 2021 年的 5.122、2022 年的 5.203 升至 2024 年的 7.5 与 2025 年的 7.2，出版模式为混合获取。

• The editor in chief is XinCheng Xie of the School of Physics, Peking University.主编为北京大学物理学院的（XinCheng Xie）。
