Science China Materials is an English-language monthly journal sponsored by the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the National Natural Science Foundation of China, published by Science China Press and distributed internationally with Springer, launched in December 2014 and covering the whole of materials science, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 7.7 and a rank of 108th among 472 multidisciplinary materials journals《中国科学：材料》（Science China-Materials）是由中国科学院与国家自然科学基金委员会主办、中国科学杂志社出版并与（Springer）合作海外发行的英文月刊，2014 年 12 月创刊，覆盖材料科学各分支，2025 年影响因子为 7.7，在 472 种材料科学综合期刊中列第 108 位。

Scope

• Specialty metals and functional or structural metallic materials are the first of the journal's named areas特种金属以及功能与结构金属材料是该刊列出的首个方向。
• New inorganic non-metallic materials, including ceramics, glasses and two-dimensional systems, are a second core area新型无机非金属材料，包括陶瓷、玻璃与二维体系，是第二个核心领域。
• Advanced organic polymers and biomaterials are covered, spanning synthesis, self-assembly and biomedical application先进有机高分子与生物材料在范围内，涵盖合成、自组装与生物医学应用。
• High-performance composites, including their interfaces and failure mechanisms, form a further subject group高性能复合材料及其界面与失效机制构成另一组选题。

History

• The journal was launched in December 2014 as the materials title of the Science China series, which already covered chemistry, physics, mathematics and life sciences该刊于 2014 年 12 月创刊，是《中国科学》系列的材料学分刊，该系列此前已覆盖化学、物理、数学与生命科学。
• Its first editorial board comprised 92 materials scientists from China and abroad, with Yadong Li of Tsinghua University as editor-in-chief首届编委会由 92 位国内外材料科学家组成，清华大学（Yadong Li）任主编。
• It was accepted into the Science Citation Index Expanded in February 2017, and received a first impact factor of 3.956 that year该刊 2017 年 2 月被（SCIE）收录，同年获得 3.956 的首个影响因子。
• The journal was supported by the national programme for raising the international influence of Chinese sci-tech journals and by the peak journal action plan该刊先后获得中国科技期刊国际影响力提升计划与中国科协登峰行动计划的资助。
• Its impact factor was 8.273 in 2021, 8.64 in 2022, 7.4 in 2024 and 7.7 in 2025, with publishing under a hybrid model该刊影响因子 2021 年为 8.273，2022 年为 8.64，2024 年为 7.4，2025 年为 7.7，出版采用混合模式。

• The editor-in-chief is Yadong Li, a chemist at Tsinghua University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences known for inorganic nanocrystal synthesis and single-atom catalysis现任主编为清华大学化学家（Yadong Li），他是中国科学院院士，以无机纳米晶合成与单原子催化研究著称。
• Associate editors are drawn from Chinese universities and institutes and from overseas materials programmes, covering metals, ceramics, polymers and energy materials副编辑来自中国高校与科研院所及海外材料研究机构，覆盖金属、陶瓷、高分子与能源材料。
