Progress in Polymer Science
Progress in Polymer Science is a monthly review journal devoted to macromolecular science and engineering, founded in 1967 by Pergamon Press and published today by Elsevier, and it is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded and Scopus with a 2025 impact factor of 32.8Progress in Polymer Science
Scope
- Authoritative and in-depth reviews that connect the primary literature and patent innovation with the latest technical knowledge
- Traditional areas of polymer chemistry, polymer physics and polymer engineering
- Emerging and interdisciplinary directions such as functional and specialty polymers, biomaterials and soft matter
- Overviews written for a broad readership across academia and industry rather than narrowly specialized reports
- Articles are commissioned by the editors, and prospective authors may submit a proposal for consideration
History
- The journal began in 1967 as a series of hardback review volumes from Pergamon Press in Oxford该刊 1967 年创办,最初是 Pergamon Press(牛津)出版的综述卷册。
- Its early volumes were edited by A. D. Jenkins and gathered invited overviews of polymer research早期各卷由 A. D. Jenkins 主编,汇集高分子研究领域的特邀综述。
- Pergamon Press was merged into Elsevier in 1991, and the title has been published by Elsevier ever sincePergamon Press
- The series settled into a monthly journal appearing twelve times a year with a largely commissioned review programme
Editors
- The editor-in-chief is Jean-Francois Lutz of the University of Strasbourg in France, whose research centres on precision and sequence-controlled polymer chemistry现任主编为法国的 Jean-Francois Lutz,任职于斯特拉斯堡大学,研究方向为精准与序列可控高分子化学。
- Guy Berry and Krzysztof Matyjaszewski, both of Carnegie Mellon University, are listed as honorary editors卡内基梅隆大学的 Guy Berry 与 Krzysztof Matyjaszewski 列名为荣誉编辑。
- Ilhem F. Hakem of Carnegie Mellon University serves as assistant editor, and the editorial board numbers about forty members drawn mainly from the United States, China, Japan and Germany卡内基梅隆大学的 Ilhem F. Hakem 任助理编辑,编委会约四十人,主要来自美国、中国、日本与德国。
- Authors may choose open access publication through Elsevier by paying an article processing charge, and the journal operates on a hybrid model
