Petroleum Science is a peer-reviewed, open-access international journal sponsored by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and co-published with KeAi Publishing, founded in 2004 and devoted to research in petroleum, petrochemical and subsurface energy resources, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 6.4.（Petroleum Science）（《石油科学》）是由中国石油大学（北京）主办、（KeAi Publishing）合作出版的同行评审开放获取国际期刊，2004 年创刊，聚焦石油、石油化工与地下能源资源研究，2025 年 JIF 为 6.4。

Scope

• The journal focuses on cutting-edge topics in petroleum, petrochemical and subsurface energy resources, publishing innovative and significant research in both fundamental theories and applied technologies.本刊聚焦石油、石油化工与地下能源资源的前沿课题，发表基础理论与应用技术层面创新而重要的研究成果。
• Its scope covers petroleum resources and engineering, spanning petroleum geology and geophysics, reservoir description and the development of conventional and unconventional oil and gas resources.编辑范围涵盖油气资源与工程，包括石油地质与地球物理、储层描述以及常规与非常规油气资源开发。
• Oil and gas storage and transportation engineering is a further core area, covering pipeline transport, gathering and transfer systems and related surface facilities.油气储运工程是另一核心方向，涵盖管道输送、集输调配系统及相关地面设施。
• The journal also covers petrochemistry and chemical engineering, from catalysis and reaction processes to the conversion of petroleum feedstocks.本刊亦涵盖石油化学与化学工程，从催化与反应过程到石油原料的转化利用。

History

• The journal was founded in 2004 by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) under the Ministry of Education as an English-language journal of petroleum science and technology for researchers, engineers and managers worldwide.本刊 2004 年由中国石油大学（北京）在教育部主管下创办，是面向全球研究人员、工程师与管理者的石油科技英文期刊。
• From Volume 4 in 2007 it was co-published with Springer Nature under the SpringerOpen brand, with print copies issued by Springer-Verlag in Berlin and Heidelberg and online articles carrying the DOI prefix 10.1007/s12182.自 2007 年第 4 卷起，本刊与（Springer Nature）在（SpringerOpen）品牌下合作出版，纸质版由柏林与海德堡的（Springer-Verlag）发行，网络论文使用 10.1007/s12182 的 DOI 前缀。
• Petroleum Science became an open-access journal in 2015, and the journal states that all articles are freely and permanently accessible online upon publication.本刊 2015 年转为开放获取期刊，官方称全部论文一经发表即可免费永久在线获取。
• From Volume 19 in 2022 publication moved to KeAi Publishing, established by China Science Publishing & Media together with Elsevier, with articles hosted on ScienceDirect and carrying the DOI prefix 10.1016/j.petsci.自 2022 年第 19 卷起，本刊改由（KeAi Publishing）出版，该机构由科学出版社（中国科学出版传媒）与（Elsevier）共同设立，论文托管于（ScienceDirect）平台，DOI 前缀为 10.1016/j.petsci。
• The journal appeared quarterly during the Springer years, moved to six issues a year from Volume 16 in 2019, and adopted monthly publication with twelve issues a year from Volume 22 in 2025.本刊在与（Springer Nature）合作期间为季刊，2019 年第 16 卷起增至每年 6 期，2025 年第 22 卷起改为月刊，每年出版 12 期。
• Publication costs were covered by China University of Petroleum (Beijing) and authors paid no article processing charge until the end of 2025, and from 1 January 2026 the journal charges an APC of 7800 yuan or 1100 US dollars for papers of up to eight pages and 9800 yuan or 1380 US dollars for papers of nine to twelve pages, with additional pages charged separately and a maximum charge of 20000 yuan or 2830 US dollars.2025 年底以前出版费用由中国石油大学（北京）承担，作者无需支付论文处理费，2026 年 1 月 1 日起本刊开始收取版面费，8 页以内为 7800 元或 1100 美元，9 至 12 页为 9800 元或 1380 美元，超出页数另行计收，最高不超过 20000 元或 2830 美元。
• The 2025 Journal Impact Factor is 6.4, following 6.1 in 2024, 4.757 in 2022 and 4.09 in 2021, and in the 2025 Journal Citation Reports the journal ranks Q1 in Engineering, Petroleum (2/22) and Q2 in Energy and Fuels (66/191).本刊 2025 年 JIF 为 6.4，2024 年为 6.1，2022 年为 4.757，2021 年为 4.09，2025 年 JCR 中在工程石油（2/22）列 Q1，在能源与燃料（66/191）列 Q2。
• The journal entered the first zone of the Chinese Academy of Sciences journal ranking table for engineering technology in 2021, was selected as a leading journal in the first phase of the China Science and Technology Journal Excellence Action Plan in 2019 and as a tier journal in its second phase in 2024, and was named by CNKI one of the most internationally influential academic journals in China for ten consecutive years from 2016 to 2025.本刊 2021 年进入中国科学院期刊分区表工程技术大类 1 区，2019 年入选中国科技期刊卓越行动计划一期领军期刊，2024 年入选二期梯队期刊，2016 年至 2025 年连续十年获评 CNKI 中国最具国际影响力学术期刊。

• The Editor-in-Chief is Lizhi Xiao, a professor at China University of Petroleum (Beijing) known for research on nuclear magnetic resonance logging and on artificial intelligence applications in petroleum.主编为肖立志，中国石油大学（北京）教授，以核磁共振测井与石油人工智能应用研究著称。
• The board is chaired by Yan Jin of China University of Petroleum (Beijing), supported by fourteen Vice-Chairmen, twenty-nine Associate Editors and twenty-eight Counselors, with an editorial office of seven staff members based at the university.编委会主任由中国石油大学（北京）的 Yan Jin 担任，下设 14 位副主任、29 位副编辑与 28 位顾问，编辑部由 7 位工作人员组成。
