Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
Pediatric Critical Care Medicine (commonly abbreviated as Pediatr. Crit. Care Med.) is a peer-reviewed paediatric critical care journal published by Lippincott Williams & Wilkins, issued monthly. Founded in 2000, it was the first scientific peer-reviewed publication devoted exclusively to paediatric critical care medicine and critical care neonatology, and it became fully digital in 2025.《儿科重症监护医学》(Pediatric Critical Care Medicine,常用缩写为 Pediatr. Crit. Care Med.)
Scope
The journal's editorial stance takes the whole critical care team as its readership, requiring that a paper be actionable for paediatricians, neonatologists, respiratory therapists, nurses and the other practitioners who jointly care for critically ill and injured children, rather than addressing a single profession alone. The journal also stresses international scope, with board members and contributors drawn from around the world.
- Critical care clinical research: recognition, monitoring and organ support in critically ill children and neonates.
- Trauma and brain injury: intensive management and outcomes in severe paediatric trauma and traumatic brain injury.
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation and post-arrest care: treatment pathways for paediatric cardiac arrest, targeted temperature management and post-arrest brain protection.
- Sedation, analgesia and nutrition: goal setting for sedation, analgesic regimens, and nutritional support for critically ill children.
- Implementation science and quality improvement: the application of implementation science methods to quality improvement and the spread of practice in critical care.
The journal is a hybrid title. The subscription route charges authors nothing, while open access carries an article processing charge. The publisher publishes neither an acceptance rate nor a review duration for this title, and the library's previous notes of relatively easy acceptance and an average of three to eight weeks had no official basis and have been deleted. The journal is indexed in the Science Citation Index Expanded and carries a 2025 impact factor of 4.9.

- Current editor: Robert C. Tasker serves as editor, a paediatric intensivist at Boston Children's Hospital and Harvard Medical School, his editorship consistent across the publisher's records and the society's annual report.
