Universitas Padjadjaran (Unpad) is a public university in Bandung, the capital of West Java Province, Indonesia, and one of the oldest and most prestigious higher education institutions in the country.巴查查兰大学（Unpad）是位于印尼西爪哇省省会万隆的一所公立大学，也是该国历史最悠久、最具声望的高等学府之一。

It was established on 11 September 1957 and officially opened by President Sukarno on 24 September of that year, with the legal scholar Iwa Koesoemasoemantri as its first rector.学校于 1957 年 9 月 11 日创立，同年 9 月 24 日由总统苏加诺正式揭幕，法学家伊瓦·库苏马苏曼特里出任首任校长。

History

• The name Padjadjaran is taken from the capital of the Sunda Kingdom at Pakuan Padjadjaran, ruled by Prabu Siliwangi between 1473 and 1513 and remembered for his wisdom and leadership.「巴查查兰」之名取自巽他王国都城巴古安·巴查查兰，该城由 1473 至 1513 年间在位、以智慧与领导力著称的普拉布·西利旺吉统治。

Academics

• Unpad today comprises 16 faculties and 2 schools, the Graduate School and the Vocational School, and offers programmes from the vocational to the doctoral level.巴查查兰大学现设 16 个学院与 2 个学院级单位，即研究生院与职业学院，开设从职业专科到博士阶段的各类课程。

Campus

• The main campus lies at Jatinangor in Sumedang Regency, West Java, about 20 kilometres east of Bandung, and it opened progressively from the 1980s.主校区位于西爪哇双木丹县查蒂南戈，距万隆约 20 公里，自 1980 年代起逐步启用。
