North China Electric Power University

North China Electric Power University is a public university in Beijing that specialises in electric power engineering and is directly administered by the Ministry of Education of China.华北电力大学是位于北京的一所以电力工程为特色的公办大学，直属中华人民共和国教育部。

Founded in 1958 as the Beijing Institute of Electric Power, it moved to Baoding in 1970, merged with a Beijing institute of power economics in 1995, and since 2005 has run its main campus in Beijing with a branch campus in Baoding, Hebei.学校 1958 年以北京电力学院之名创办，1970 年迁至保定，1995 年与北京的动力经济学院合并，2005 年起校本部设在北京，并在河北保定设分校。

History

• The institution traces its origin to September 1950, when the Electric Power Staff School opened in Dapen Hutong in Beijing's Xicheng District under the Electricity Administration of the Ministry of Fuel Industry.学校源头可追溯至 1950 年 9 月，电力职工学校在北京西城区大盆胡同成立，隶属中央燃料工业部电业管理总局。
• In September 1951 the school moved to Tianjin and became one division of the Tianjin Industrial School, an arrangement that lasted only a year before it returned to Beijing.1951 年 9 月，学校迁往天津，成为天津工业学校的一部，这一安排仅维持一年，学校随后又迁回北京。
• A new campus was built beside the Guangtong Temple outside Xizhimen in June 1952, and in September the school moved in and was renamed the Beijing Electrical Industry School.1952 年 6 月，学校在西直门外广通寺旁建成新校区，同年 9 月迁入新址并更名为北京电气工业学校。

Academics
