Nonlinear Analysis: Modelling and Control

Nonlinear Analysis: Modelling and Control comes out of Vilnius University six times a year and takes nonlinear problems from any branch of science or engineering, with no charge to authors and no charge to readers.《非线性分析建模与控制》由维尔纽斯大学主办，一年六期，收任何学科与工程门类里的非线性问题，向作者不收费，向读者也不收费。

The model is diamond open access. Nothing is charged for submission or for processing, papers go out under CC BY 4.0, and the cost of the operation is carried by the university and by a project grant that ran from 2016 to 2022.办刊走钻石开放获取。投稿不收，处理也不收，文章按 CC BY 4.0 发布，运转的花费由学校与一项 2016 至 2022 年的项目经费承担。

Scope

• The scope is stated in one sentence and is deliberately wide. The journal calls itself a multidisciplinary forum for scientists, researchers and engineers working on the research and design of nonlinear processes and phenomena.范围用一句话说完，而且有意放宽。刊物自称是一个多学科论坛，面向研究并设计非线性过程与非线性现象的科学家、研究者与工程师。

• Nonlinear modelling of natural phenomena is named in the same sentence, which is the half of the title that pulls the journal toward physics, chemistry and biology rather than toward abstract analysis alone.同一句里点了自然现象的非线性建模，这是刊名里把刊物往物理、化学与生物学拉的那一半，不只朝抽象分析走。

• Contributions are accepted on nonlinear phenomena and processes in any field of science and technology, an open clause that leaves the subject list to the authors rather than to a fixed taxonomy.任何科学与技术领域里的非线性现象与非线性过程都收，这一条开得很松，题材由作者来定，不由一张固定的分类表来定。

• Four kinds of contribution are named. Original research papers come first, then review articles that give a comprehensive account of a scientific topic.稿件分四类。原创研究论文排头，其后是就某一科学题目作全面梳理的综述。

• Short self-contained articles are the third, and the wording matters. They are meant for work in progress or for ideas that are interesting and possibly tentative, which is an unusual thing for a journal to invite.第三类是简短而自足的文章，这个措辞有分量。它收进行中的工作，也收有意思但也许尚未坐实的想法，刊物肯这样征稿并不常见。

• Comments on previously published research close the list, so a paper in the journal can acquire a public reply inside the same journal, without waiting for someone to build a whole article around it.末一类是对已发表研究的评论，在刊物上登过的文章因此能在同一份刊物里得到公开回应，不必等谁把回应扩写成一篇完整论文。

• Multidisciplinary interest is the acceptance test. History

• Volume 1 appeared in 1997 under the imprint of Vilnius University, and the archive on the journal's own site lists it as the first of the run.第 1 卷 1997 年问世，署维尔纽斯大学的印记，刊物自己站上的过刊表把它列为全套的第一卷。

• The start was uneven. Two volumes, the second and the third, both carry 1998 on the archive page, which is how a new title catches up with a calendar once it has begun mid-year.起步并不齐整。第 2 卷与第 3 卷在过刊页上都署 1998 年，一份年中才开张的刊物，就是这样把卷号与年份对齐的。

Editors

• Review is double blind. Authors and reviewers are concealed from each other throughout, and manuscripts have to be prepared so that the identity is not revealed directly or by a giveaway in the acknowledgements or the file properties.审稿是双盲。作者与审稿人全程互不知情，稿子也要按要求处理，不能让身份直接露出来，也不能在致谢或文件属性里漏出来。

• Every submission gets an initial assessment by the editor-in-chief or a designated editor, on fit, quality, originality, compliance and ethics, and a paper that fails it is rejected without going out.每篇稿子先由主编或指定编辑过一遍，看方向、质量、原创性、格式与伦理，过不了这一关的直接退，不往外送。

• Those that pass go to a handling editor, and research articles then go to at least two reviewers with relevant expertise. Thirty days is the normal window for a report.过了关的交给责任编辑，研究论文再送到至少两位对口的审稿人手上。出报告的正常期限是三十天。

• Board members may review, but the policy forbids leaning on the board alone, so a paper cannot be settled entirely inside the editorial office even when the expertise is there.编委可以审稿，政策却禁止只靠编委，哪怕行家就在编辑部里，一篇稿子也不能关起门来定。

• Four decisions are open, accept, accept with minor revisions, major revisions with further evaluation, and reject. The final call rests with the editor-in-chief or an editor without a conflict of interest.决定有四种，接受、小修后接受、大修后再评、退稿。最后拍板的是主编，或者与稿子没有利益关系的编辑。

• An author who believes the process went wrong may appeal with a written justification, and the appeal is heard by an editor who was not part of the disputed decision. Submissions from Vilnius University are reviewed on the same terms.作者若认为程序出了错，可以附上理由申诉，由未参与原决定的编辑来听。维尔纽斯大学的来稿按同一套标准评。
