Niigata University

Niigata University is a national university in the city of Niigata, in Niigata Prefecture on the Sea of Japan coast of central Japan, and it is one of the largest national universities on that coastline.新潟大學是位於日本中部新潟縣新潟市的一所國立大學，臨日本海而建，是日本海沿岸規模最大的國立綜合大學之一，也是新潟縣內最重要的學術機構，其前身可追溯至十九世紀的醫學與師範教育機構。百餘年來，它始終是新潟地區人才培育與學術研究的核心，並在縣內的醫療、教育與產業發展中扮演關鍵角色。

It was established in 1949 under Japan's new educational system and has its major origins in Niigata Medical College, chartered in 1922, and in Niigata Higher School, founded in 1919.該校於1949年依日本新學制設立，其淵源主要來自1922年獲准設立的舊制新潟醫學專門學校，以及1919年創立的舊制新潟高等學校，兩者共同構成其醫學與文科教育的根基，此後歷經多次改組與合併，逐步發展為今日學科完備的綜合大學。

History

• The oldest origin of the university was Kyoritsu Hospital, a temporary hospital founded in Niigata in 1870 to serve the local population and to provide clinical training.該校最古老的淵源是1870年在新潟設立的臨時醫院——共立醫院，它既服務當地居民，也為日後的醫學教育與臨床教學奠定了基礎。
