History

• The journal was conceived in 1987 by Stephen Grossberg, who approached several publishers before establishing it with Pergamon Press, with Teuvo Kohonen and Shun-Ichi Amari as editors-in-chief for Europe and Asia while Grossberg took the Americas, and the first issue appeared in 1988该刊由（Stephen Grossberg）于 1987 年构想，他在接触多家出版商后与（Pergamon Press）合作创办，欧洲与亚洲的主编分别由（Teuvo Kohonen）与（Shun-Ichi Amari）担任，（Stephen Grossberg）负责美洲，首期于 1988 年问世。
