Nature Cancer

Nature Cancer (commonly abbreviated as ''Nat. Cancer.') is a standalone flagship title dedicated to cancer research within the Nature Portfolio. Launched in 2020, it is published under a hybrid model combining subscription and open access, with a 2025 impact factor of 28.Nature Cancer（常用缩写 Nat. Scope

• Disciplinary focus: cancer is a devastating disease that causes one in six deaths globally, and a large proportion of those deaths could be prevented. • Article types and open access: alongside original research the journal publishes Comments, Reviews, News and Views, Features and Correspondence. It operates a hybrid model in which authors may publish by subscription or pay an article-processing charge for open access, with a median submission-to-first-decision time of seven days.体裁与开放获取： 除原创研究外，还刊发评论、综述、新闻与观点、专题与通讯；期刊为混合模式，作者可选择传统订阅发表或支付文章处理费以开放获取，投稿至首次决定的中位时间为 7 天。

History

• 2018: the publisher began planning a dedicated new cancer title and worked up the publishing proposal for it.2018年： 出版方着手筹划一本专门面向癌症的新刊，并先行推进相关出版方案的设计。
• 2019: Alexia-Ileana Zaromytidou, then Editor-in-Chief of Nature Cell Biology, took up the post of launch Chief Editor and began building the editorial team.2019年： 时任《Nature Cell Biology》主编的 Alexia-Ileana Zaromytidou 接受任命，出任新刊创刊主编并组建编辑部。
• 2020: the first issue appeared themed on the complexity of cancer, covering tumour evolution, intratumour heterogeneity, population differences, the identification of tumour initiation factors and the origins of metastasis-initiating cells, alongside a full treatment of tumour immunotherapy. Editors

• Current Chief Editor: the journal is currently led by Alexia-Ileana Zaromytidou, based in the New York office. She took her BSc in molecular biology and PhD in biochemistry at University College London, worked with Richard Treisman at the London Research Institute of Cancer Research UK, now the Francis Crick Institute, and completed postdoctoral training with Joan Massagué at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York.
