National Taiwan Normal University, known as NTNU, is a national public research university with its main campus in the Daan District of Taipei, and it is the oldest teachers' college in Taiwan, tracing its origins to the Taihoku Higher School founded in 1922.国立台湾师范大学（英文简称 NTNU）是一所国立公立研究型大学，主校区位于台北市大安区，是台湾历史最悠久的师范院校，其源头可追溯至 1922 年创办的台湾总督府台北高等学校。

History

• NTNU traces its history to the Taihoku Higher School, founded in 1922 during Japanese rule, which was the only such school in Taiwan and one of the top 38 elite high schools in Japan, preparing students for Taihoku Imperial University.该校的前身是日治时期 1922 年创办的台北高等学校，那是台湾唯一一所同类学校，也是全日本 38 所精英高校之一，为学生升入台北帝国大学作准备。

• The main campus lies at 162, Section 1, Heping East Road in the Daan District of Taipei, adjacent to the Yongkang Street commercial area.主校区位于台北市大安区和平东路一段 162 号，紧邻永康商圈。

• The Gongguan campus is at 88, Section 4, Tingzhou Road in the Wenshan District of Taipei, and the Linkou campus is at 2, Section 1, Ren'ai Road in the Linkou District of New Taipei City.公馆校区位于台北市文山区汀州路四段 88 号；林口校区位于新北市林口区仁爱路一段 2 号。

Notable people

• Liang Shih-chiu, who taught English at the university and served as dean of the College of Liberal Arts, was the first scholar to single-handedly translate the complete works of Shakespeare into Chinese.曾在台师大教授英语并任文学院院长的梁实秋，是首位独力将莎士比亚全集译为中文的学者。

• Mou Zongsan, a leading modern New Confucian philosopher, was among the university's faculty.现代新儒家代表性哲学家牟宗三曾是该校教师。
