National Taipei University (NTPU) is a national university in New Taipei City, Taiwan, established in February 2000 when the College of Law and Business of National Chung Hsing University on the Taipei campus became an independent institution.国立台北大学（National Taipei University，简称 NTPU）是台湾新北市的一所国立大学，2000 年 2 月由国立中兴大学台北校区法商学院独立设校，其源头可追溯至 1949 年创设的省立专科学校。

Its main campus occupies a greenfield site in Sanxia District of New Taipei City, two smaller sites stand in Zhongshan District in Taipei, and six colleges teach law, business, public affairs, social sciences, humanities and electrical engineering and computer science.该校主校区位于新北市三峡区，另在台北市中山区设有两处校区，六个学院分别教授法律、商学、公共事务、社会科学、人文与电机资讯等学科。

History

• The school opened in 1949 as the Taiwan Provincial College of Local Administration in Taipei, created to train civil servants for county and city governments during the reconstruction that followed the Second World War.该校前身是 1949 年在台北成立的台湾省立地方行政专科学校，办学目的是在第二次世界大战后的重建时期为县市政府培养公务人员。
