National Sun Yat-sen University

National Sun Yat-sen University is a public research university located in Sizihwan, Kaohsiung, Taiwan, established in 1980 and named in honour of Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the founding father of the Republic of China.国立中山大学（英文全名 National Sun Yat-sen University）是一所位于台湾高雄市西子湾的公立研究型大学，1980 年设立，以中华民国国父孙中山命名。

It is recognised as one of Taiwan's designated national research universities and is the only university in the country to host National Key Institutions in both semiconductor technology and international finance, and it holds accreditation from the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business and the CFA Institute.该校是台湾获认定的重点研究型大学之一，也是全台唯一在半导体技术与国际金融两个领域均设有国家重点机构的大学，并持有国际商学院协会与特许金融分析师协会的认证。

History

• In 1923, two years before his death, Sun Yat-sen established two institutions in Canton, the civil National Kwangtung University and the military Whampoa Military Academy, and the civil university was renamed National Sun Yat-sen University in 1926 to honour him.1923 年，即孙中山逝世前两年，他在广州创办了两所院校——民用的国立广东大学与军用的黄埔军校；1926 年，国立广东大学为纪念孙中山而更名为国立中山大学。

• After its establishment the university was forced to move south during the Sino-Japanese War, relocating first to Yunnan and later to northern Guangdong, before resuming operations at its original Canton campus in 1945.抗战期间，该校被迫南迁，先后迁至云南与粤北，直到 1945 年才在广州原址复校。
