National Dong Hwa University (NDHU) is a public research university in Shoufeng Township, Hualien County, Taiwan, established in 1994 as the first university founded in Taiwan after the lifting of martial law in 1987.国立东华大学（NDHU）是位于台湾花莲县寿丰乡的一所公立研究型大学，1994 年建校，是台湾 1987 年解除戒严后成立的第一所大学。

It is organised into eight colleges with 39 departments, 56 graduate institutes and more than 70 research centres, and in 2024/25 enrolled about 10,000 students, of whom 7,600 were undergraduates and 2,400 postgraduates.学校设 8 个学院、39 个系、56 个研究生院所与 70 余个研究中心，2024 至 2025 学年在校生约 1 万人，其中本科生 7600 人、研究生 2400 人。

History
