National Chung Hsing University

National Chung Hsing University, known as NCHU and in Chinese as 國立中興大學, is a national public research university in Taichung, Taiwan, and one of the island's oldest higher-education institutions, with a line of descent reaching back to 1919.国立中兴大学（英文缩写 NCHU，中文全称 國立中興大學）是位于台湾台中市的一所国立公立研究型大学，其办学脉络可追溯至1919年，是台湾历史最悠久的高等学府之一。

It reached its present shape in 1971, when it became a national university under its current name, and it is today organised into 12 colleges covering the humanities, science and technology, agriculture and medicine.该校于1971年成为国立大学并采用现名，形成今日格局；现设有12个学院，涵盖人文、理工、农学与医学等领域。

History

• The university's earliest predecessor, the Advanced Academy of Agronomy and Forestry, was established in 1919 in Taipei by order of the Japanese Governor-General of Taiwan, in the first year of colonial higher education on the island.该校最早的前身是1919年依日本驻台总督之令在台北设立的高级农林业学校，正值台湾殖民时期高等教育的开端之年。
