The Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology is a provincial public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu, specialising in atmospheric science, environmental science and information technology and known in China as the cradle of meteorological talent.南京信息工程大学是位于江苏南京的省属公立大学，以大气科学、环境科学和信息科学与技术为特色，在中国享有「气象人才摇篮」之誉。

It is co-built by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education and the China Meteorological Administration, and it belongs to the national Double First-Class Construction.学校由江苏省人民政府、教育部和中国气象局三方共建，是国家「双一流」建设高校。

History

• The university's meteorological lineage begins in 1923, when Zhu Kezhen founded the meteorology department of National Southeast University, from which the university's teaching lineage descends.学校的气象学脉始于 1923 年，竺可桢在国立东南大学创办气象系，学校的气象教学谱系即由此而来。
