The Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine (NJUCM) is a provincial public university in Nanjing, Jiangsu Province, China, with Chinese medicine and Chinese pharmacy as its two defining strengths.南京中医药大学是位于中国江苏省南京市的省属公办高校，以中医学与中药学为两大优势特色。

It was founded on 15 October 1954, took its present name in February 1995, and is co-built by the Jiangsu Provincial People's Government, the Ministry of Education and the National Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine as a Double First-Class university.学校 1954 年 10 月 15 日建校，1995 年 2 月改为现名，由江苏省人民政府、教育部与国家中医药管理局共建，并进入「双一流」建设。

History

• The institution opened on 15 October 1954 as the Jiangsu Traditional Chinese Medicine Training School, with Cheng Dan'an as its first president.学校于 1954 年 10 月 15 日以江苏省中医进修学校的名义开办，首任校长为承淡安。
• It was later renamed the Jiangsu Provincial School of Traditional Chinese Medicine, a name recorded among the institution's former titles alongside its college-era designations.学校其后改称江苏省中医学校，这一校名与后来的学院时期名称一同被列入校史沿革。
• In 1958, when the Great Leap Forward pushed provincial governments to create universities, Jiangsu's education department upgraded the school to the Nanjing College of Traditional Chinese Medicine.1958 年「大跃进」期间，中央把教育管理权限下放地方，江苏省教育部门推动新建高校，学校由此升格为南京中医学院。
