History

• In December 1967 the Western Australian government chose 229 hectares in the City of Melville, then the Somerville Pine Plantation, as the site of the state's second university, land whose traditional custodians are the Whadjuk people of the Noongar nation.1967 年 12 月，西澳大利亚州政府选定梅尔维尔市一片 229 公顷的土地（时为萨默维尔松树种植园）作为该州第二所大学的校址，其土地的传统守护者是诺恩加民族的瓦朱克人。
