History

• Microplastics was established in 2022 by MDPI in Basel, Switzerland, as an online-only journal with the ISSN 2673-8929《微塑料》由（MDPI）于 2022 年在瑞士巴塞尔创办，为纯在线期刊，刊号 2673-8929。
• It entered the field at a moment when concern about the environmental and health effects of microplastics was rising sharply worldwide其创刊正值全球对微塑料环境与健康效应的担忧迅速上升之际。
