Microbiome
Microbiome is a fully open access, peer-reviewed journal published by BioMed Central that was established in 2013 and covers the microbiomes colonizing humans, animals, plants and the environment, with a 2025 Journal Impact Factor of 14.9(Microbiome)是由(BioMed Central)出版的完全开放获取同行评审期刊,2013 年创刊,涵盖定植于人类、动物、植物与环境的微生物组,2025 年影响因子为 14.9。
Scope
- The scope encompasses studies of microbiomes colonizing humans, animals, plants or the environment, both built and natural or manipulated, as in agriculture其范围涵盖定植于人类、动物、植物或环境的微生物组研究,既包括建成环境、也包括自然或被改造的环境,例如农业环境。[1]
- It considers studies on the development and application of meta-omics approaches or novel bioinformatics tools [2]
- It emphasizes community and host interaction with structure-function relationships that advance the field
- It is especially interested in studies that go beyond descriptive omics surveys and include experimental or theoretical approaches that mechanistically support proposed microbiome functions该刊尤其关注超越描述性组学调查的研究,要求包含以机制性证据支持所提微生物组功能的实验或理论方法。[3]
- It seeks studies that establish cause and effect relationships between microbiomes and their hosts or environments
- Studies of individual microbial isolates or species that do not explore how they affect the complex microbiome will not be considered
History
- It was established by BioMed Central, part of Springer Nature, in 2013 and has been fully open access since its launch该刊于 2013 年由(BioMed Central)创办,该社属(Springer Nature)旗下,自创刊起即完全开放获取。
- It works closely with its sister journals Environmental Microbiome and Animal Microbiome, and with BMC Microbiology该刊与姊妹刊(Environmental Microbiome)和(Animal Microbiome)以及(BMC Microbiology)紧密协作。
- Its 2025 Journal Impact Factor is 14.9, and its 2023 metrics included a five-year Impact Factor of 17.9, SNIP of 2.725 and SJR of 3.802其 2025 年影响因子为 14.9,2023 年指标包括五年影响因子 17.9、(SNIP)2.725 与(SJR)3.802。
- In 2024 the median time from submission to first editorial decision was 22 days and from submission to acceptance 176 days2024
- Articles are published online without print issues and carry unique article numbers instead of page numbers
- It operates a closed peer-review system in which suitable manuscripts are sent to at least two reviewers before the editorial team makes the final decision
