History

• The journal was launched in 2002 under a full open-access policy to fill a gap in biotechnology and applied microbiology, where the cell-factory concept had been only a side topic.本刊于 2002 年以完全开放获取的方式创刊，填补生物技术与应用微生物学领域的空白，此前细胞工厂概念在该领域仅属旁支议题。^[1]
