History

• At the time of its founding Newfoundland was a dominion of the British Empire, and it had no institution offering high-ranking post-secondary education, so students who wanted a university education before 1925 generally had to travel abroad.建校之时，纽芬兰仍是大英帝国的自治领，当地没有任何提供高层次中学后教育的机构，因此 1925 年之前想要接受大学教育的学生通常必须远赴海外。
