MDM Policy & Practice

MDM Policy & Practice is a fully open access, online-only journal of applied decision science that SAGE Publications issues on behalf of the Society for Medical Decision Making, which launched it in 2016 beside its long-standing title Medical Decision Making. It publishes work on shared decision making, patient decision support, risk communication, economic evaluation and health policy, and the 2025 Journal Citation Reports place it in the third quartile of two health-services categories.《MDM 政策与实践》是 SAGE Publications（SAGE 出版社）替 Society for Medical Decision Making（美国医疗决策学会）出版的完全开放获取电子刊物，2016 年随同该会老牌刊物 Medical Decision Making 一起上路，内容围绕共同决策、患者决策支持、风险沟通、经济评价与卫生政策，2025 年版期刊引证报告把两份卫生服务类目都排在 Q3 区。

Scope

• The launch editorial defines the remit as rigorous and systematic applications of decision science designed to improve the health and clinical care of individuals and to assist health-policy development.发刊社论把任务界定为把决策科学严谨而系统地用起来，用来改善个体的健康与临床照护，并协助卫生政策的形成。
• Topics are framed around problems facing clinical and health policy decision makers, a group the society's description lists as patients, providers, producers and payers.选题对准临床与卫生政策端面对的具体问题，学会说明里点名的决策者包括患者、供方、生产方与支付方四类。
• Editorial selection rewards transfer of method rather than invention of it, so exemplary applications of accepted approaches to consequential problems carry more weight than purely technical novelty.编辑取舍更看重方法的迁移而非方法的发明，用通行办法解决要紧问题的示范之作，分量重于纯技术层面的翻新。

History

• The Society for Medical Decision Making launched the journal as an online-only, open-access companion to Medical Decision Making in 2016, and the National Library of Medicine records volume 1 number 1 as covering July to December of that year.Society for Medical Decision Making（美国医疗决策学会）在 2016 年将本刊作为 Medical Decision Making 的电子化开放获取姊妹刊创办，国家医学图书馆著录第 1 卷第 1 期覆盖同年 7 月至 12 月。

• Brian J. Zikmund-Fisher holds the editorship of both this journal and Medical Decision Making and works from the Department of Health Behavior and Health Education at the University of Michigan.Brian J.
