Materials and Structures

Materials and Structures (commonly abbreviated as ''Mater. Struct.') is the flagship scholarly journal published by Springer for the International Union of Laboratories and Experts in Construction Materials, Systems and Structures, known as RILEM. Founded in 1968, it publishes original research on the fundamental properties of building materials and their performance in civil engineering, with a 2025 impact factor of 3.9.Materials and Structures（常用缩写 Mater. Scope

• Disciplinary boundary: the journal sits at the junction of civil engineering and materials science, concentrating on the fundamental properties of building and structural materials and on how those properties show up in structures, a remit distinct from reports on construction practice or papers on structural design calculation.学科边界： 期刊处在土木工程与材料科学的交界处，关注建筑与结构材料的本征性能以及它们在结构中的实际表现，与纯粹的施工工艺报道或结构设计计算论文分属不同范畴。

History

• 1968: the journal was founded as the scientific publication of the union, its cover having long carried the bilingual pairing Materials and Structures and Matériaux et Constructions, which it retains to this day.1968年： 期刊作为该联合会的科学刊物创刊，封面长期以 Materials and Structures 与 Matériaux et Constructions 双语并置，沿用至今。
